TRANSLATING THIS BIBLE INTO HEBREW

0919 - The Narrated Bible

PDF Version

For the word of God is LIVING and POWERFUL, and SHARPER than any two-edged sword

We have learned from the Bible itself that the “secret” of the spiritual and physical well-being of Israel is that they have access to the Word of God!  Whether they hear it or read it, the Word awakens and nourishes their souls and spirits to eternal life.

For two thousand years, the Jewish people living in exile read mainly the Five Books of Moses and the Psalms.  The problem is the ultra-Orthodox read it through the filter of Talmudic and rabbinical literature.  The pure Word of God was muddied.  The secular Jews did not read it at all.

“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God,   “That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the Lord.” (Amos 8:11)

But these are the days of Redemption for Israel!

One of the greatest victories for the Kingdom of God will be the return of the People of the Book to their Book, the Divine  Words of God.

The difficulties of reading the Scriptures over the centuries have been many.  After Israel’s dispersion in 70 A.D. the Hebrew language died, with only the ultra-Orthodox still reading the Hebrew Bible.  Many of them could pronounce the words but without really understanding the meaning.

Today, Israelis speak Hebrew!  One of the great miracles of our century!  However, many of the words in the Bible – some written more than 2500 to 3500 years ago – are unintelligible to the modern Hebrew reader.

The Narrated Bible in Chronological Order makes the entire Bible much more intelligible than ever before.  On each page is a dictionary for difficult words.  And there are beautifully-written introductory explanations of each section.  Most fascinating of all is to grasp the whole timeline of events of the Bible in chronological order.

This is a revolutionary Bible that will bring many Israelis to read God’s Word and to understand that God is speaking to them! Both the Old and the New Testaments reveal Yeshua who is the Word of God made flesh, to the people of Israel.

0919 - Narrated Bible update

Dear Maoz partner,

Exactly two years ago we embarked on one of the greatest projects of our lifetime in Israel—producing The Narrated Bible in Chronological Order in HEBREW!

We are now two-thirds through the project—right on target!  We have been working in tandem with the Israel Bible Society, led by Victor Kalisher.  He and his team of the finest Hebrew-language Messianic scholars are right on schedule to complete the translation by September 2020.

We only lack $51,000 to finish this $500,000 project.  And we believe we can reach our goal this month—with your help!

One page of the Bible project costs about $250.  We have 200 pages to go to reach our target and see this project come to life!

What is so unique about The Narrated Bible?  And why do we think this is going to be the greatest tool we have ever given to our Jewish people?

First, this Bible has a beautifully-written narration before each section of Scripture describing to the reader what is about to take place, and why.  This, alone, is such a valuable feature, giving the readers an idea of exactly what they are about to read.

Secondly, this Bible is in chronological order, so from Genesis to Revelation there is a flow of the story line.  Instead of prophecies or events without contextual background or in the order which they happened, we follow the characters and actions as they interrelate to each other in their time period.

In addition, every few verses have a subtitle, again helping the reader to understand the Scriptures that follow.

The ancient Hebrew Scriptures themselves will be published as they were originally written.  That is an unalterable part of Israel’s heritage and culture!  However, at the bottom of each page, words the average Israeli doesn’t know or understand will be made clear with a modern Hebrew word and/or definition.

The New Testament will also be in chronological order, making, for instance, the teachings of Paul more clearly understood as they relate to his journeys to bring the Good News to the Gentiles—and the Jews.

After all is said and done, it is the Word of God that brings salvation.

“How beautiful are the feet of those who bring Good News!”  (Romans 10:15)

This is an awesome way for you and for us to do just that!  We only need $51,000 more.  Let’s finish strong!

For the Salvation of Israel,

Ari & Shira Sorko-Ram, Kobi and Shani Ferguson

P.S.  Here’s how you can help us provide the Scripture to our Jewish people–$250 will produce one page, but even $50 will help us to produce more verses!  Every gift counts!
